Public education about sustainable energy is a core part of what SEI does, from educating our own members through projects and guest speakers, to hosting community events to teach others.
The SEI biodiesel demonstration cart is the centerpiece of many of our public demonstrations. SEI attends many events on-campus and around Corvallis annually, including the Da Vinci Days festival, the OSU Sustainability Fair, Beaver Open House, and Earth Day Fair. For a listing of upcoming events, see our calendar.
SEI also has developed a classroom presentation appropriate for high school and middle school audiences. This 45 minute interactive lesson is a crash course in modern energy knowledge, including information about where our energy comes from, alternative energy sources, and things students can do to conserve energy at home. If you’re interested in having us present to your class, please contact us.
