October 16th, 2011 by Nathan Hinkle

Our next meeting will be on Thursday, October 20th in Gleeson 100 at 6pm. (This is different from our usual Tuesday meeting time, because this event was scheduled far in advance.) This week Dr. Hiroshi Morihara, the president of HM3 Energy, presenting about torrefied biomass, a novel sustainable energy source replacement for traditional coal fired power plants. Hiroshi will be talking about how torrefication works, how it can be used to replace coal, and other information about the company and its research. Food will be provided (sandwiches or pizza are planned). Come by at 6pm to learn about this new sustainable energy source!

I was just wondering how long the presentation is because I have a midterm that day at 8:30. I still really want to go but I have to take a midterm too.
    Thanks,
    Sarani

  2. Hi Sarani. The presentation is expected to last approximately 45 minutes, and then there will be 15-30 minutes for questions and discussion. You would be able to leave by 7:00pm. Thanks for asking, we hope you can make it! Since food will be provided, hopefully that’ll leave you with enough time to get to your midterm without having to worry about dinner.
